Kristin Goodman is in her 15th year of teaching Visual Art at G.M.S. She is also the Fine Arts Department Chair. A graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Mrs. Goodman holds certifications in Elementary Art (1st through 8th grade), All-Level Art (Pre-K through 12th grade), and as a Generalist (core subjects 1st through 8th grade). She was the 2011 Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Goodman’s favorite forms of art-making are painting (especially watercoloring), drawing and shading with Prismacolors, and creating collage pieces from recycled paper and other found objects. She has a passion for Modern and Contemporary art, but also enjoys work from all of the periods and movements throughout art history.
Mrs. Goodman has two children, Shelbi and Braxton. Shelbi is a 2016 Westwood High School graduate, and Braxton will be a 7th grader in RRISD. She also has a fur-child, a naughty but adorable Schnoodle named Chico. Mrs. Goodman’s husband is a General Manager for the Caliber Collision company, and plays the electric guitar at various Austin venues by night!
Mrs. Goodman’s hobbies include reading, gardening, decorating, running, hiking, mountain biking, and eating Tex-Mex. Nothing makes her as happy as being with her family and being out in nature…. Well, excecpt spending time with her amazing students! 🙂 It’s going to be an awesome school year!
